The Cemetery is administered by the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Southold. In the interest of continuing the preservation of the heritage of providing a peaceful setting and fitting memorial to those buried therein, the following Rules and Regulations have been formulated.

No permanent stone or structure extending more than 1” above ground level other than granite headstones with approved foundations may be erected on any plot without the approval in writing of the Session of the Church or the Cemetery Committee. No corner markings, railings or other obstructions to the care of the grounds shall be installed.

Raised corner markers on all plots shall be removed or leveled to ground level unless written objection is received from plot owners. Those seeking exception to such procedure must so request of Session in writing.

Glass containers for flowers shall not be used and all permanent metal receptacles shall be placed below the ground surface.

Shrubs, evergreens or plants infringing on plots other than the one on which planted or on paths or roads shall be removed. No headstones, plaques, shrubs or obstruction of any kind may be erected in the Memorial section if they extend over one inch above ground level, except those shrubs or markers installed by the Session for landscaping or maintenance reasons.

The Session reserves the right to prevent the erection of or remove any object deemed to be a hazard, inconsistent with good taste, or considered to mar the beauty of the grounds.

The Session reserves the right to modify the Rules and Regulation for the governance of the Cemetery and its grounds as deemed proper.

No interments may be made until the plot is fully paid for unless special permission is first obtained from the Session. Title to the plot will be furnished only upon completion of payments. Installment payments may be made for plots at a minimum rate of $100.00 down with the balance paid in full within twelve (12) months at a 6% service charge. In the event of failure to complete payments as specified, refund will be made of all moneys paid including both interest and principal, less the cost of annual care for the size of the plot(s) involved.

Perpetual Care Includes: The cutting of grass on your plot and in the entire cemetery. The disposal of cut flowers or other decorations placed on graves. The removal of shrubs or evergreens that infringe on other plots or roads or walks or threaten the stability of monuments or that have grown wild. The removal or replacement of trees that have become hazardous. The filling of graves that have settled or sunken with top soil and replanting with grass seed during the growing season. The care of fences, roads and other fixtures.

Perpetual Care Does Not Include: Payment for or purchase of or installment of or replacement of or repair of grave markers, monuments, headstones or plaques. Trimming or care of shrubs, plants or flowers planted by plot owners. The removal or replacement of low-growing ground cover.
